Stories In The Stones

Stories In The Stones

A Poem by Dylan Cook

There are stories in the stones

 They are the earth's bones

If you will listen to the rocks

You will find that they will talk

Stones tell the tale of days gone by

When and where the gods did abide

Which way the wind would blow

In which direction history's river flowed

There are stories in the stones

They are the earth's bones

If you will listen to the rocks

You will find that they will talk

Stones are changed by wind and water

But still they survive and still they endure

To tell arcane secrets and divine magick

To tell of epic deeds or stories that were tragic

There are stories in the stones

They are the earth's bones

If you will listen to the rocks

You will find that they will talk

Stories in the stones, they are the earth's bones; I really like this concept that traces of the past can be read in the stones, if you really set your heart to listen. Nature tells many stories, carried on the wind and in stone. Great Metaphoric concept! Enjoyed!
