She

She

A Poem by mrdee53
"

I wrote this on the subway home after receiving an unexpected text message earlier that day.

"
She texted me again
A surge of cold adrenaline slams into my heart
I can't breathe
And for a moment I can smell her

I'm relapsing
The scars burn and I crave whisky
I need to numb this
It's consuming

The love that never happened
Never could have been
Yet wanted
Craved
Never knowing her taste
Only her smell

Memories are all that's left
Imprints that still scorch my mind
Wishing to forget, to erase
All the pain her everything causes
And she'll never know

I've been there, but there's always someone out there that wont ignore you the first time, that wont take years or months for them to finally notice you and that someone will be worth it. Good poem. :)
