SheA Poem by mrdee53I wrote this on the subway home after receiving an unexpected text message earlier that day.
She texted me again
A surge of cold adrenaline slams into my heart I can't breathe And for a moment I can smell her I'm relapsing The scars burn and I crave whisky I need to numb this It's consuming The love that never happened Never could have been Yet wanted Craved Never knowing her taste Only her smell Memories are all that's left Imprints that still scorch my mind Wishing to forget, to erase All the pain her everything causes And she'll never know
