Noon in the Afternine

By: Nick Workman

Chub-a-lub

Walk around

With no one to love

Without a frown

Do what you’re told

Every minute, everyday

Ain’t it getting old?

Just gotta get away

Look in the mirror

Look at your heart

The image will get clearer

Not shatter apart

Why are you so afraid?

You’re grown, not a child

Need to get laid

But your attitude’s too mild

Nothing’s ever good enough

It rings in your head

You work your f*****g a*s off

But they all just want you dead

Search your soul tonight

Who you find is YOU

Then turn out the light

And wake up tomorrow anew
