Nothing New

Nothing New

A Poem by Scooby

Nothing New

By: Nick Workman

I will not be another victim.

I can tell you miss him.

I’m bright, but your light’s dim.

I know my happy medium.

I can be alone and keep a smile.

A lesson to learn and it took a while.

But I was taught by a devil so vile.

Stretched my heart for what seemed like a mile.

If I only had the chance to,

This is what I’d say to you:

I can see clear;

The end is near.

This test is your final exam.

Whether you pass or fail, I’ll know who I am.

Not that you’ll even give a damn,

But I’m proud to say I’m out of this jam.

No longer will I try

To help you get by.

And if you wonder why,

Think back to every lie.

You’re playing a game I don’t want a part of.

Your daily shame won’t help me find love

And why should I pray to a power above?

I tried holding you and only received a shove.

If I only had the chance to,

This is what I’d say to you:

I can see clear;

The end is near.
