GoneA Chapter by mr_19
They were gone. Completely. Absolutely. Gone. I wasn't entirely sure what to do, I was just in shock. You can't really describe what it feels like, but it stops you in your tracks. There's just nothing you can do, simply because you don't foresee things like this taking place. I mean, really, was I supposed to predict that Henry and Rachel would just vanish? Wait! Where's Melissa?! That very instant I thought of her I attributed a sense of hope, however small, to my cause. I had hope, and that was something that I was simply not willing to let go.
I rushed through the hallway to her room, the second one on the left, just past the bathroom, but there was no sign of her. I screamed her name but no to avail. Was I hopeless? Had I just been ruined by some sort or terrifying accident? Was it no accident? Was I a target? Where was my family? All of these thoughts, some of which were purely terrorizing, went racing through my head like runners in a cross country race. Simultaneously. I wasn't really sure where to begin, I mean just out of nowhere they were gone. All three of them. Not to mention it was already getting dark and the streetlights we had in the city weren't of much help. The city of Tunnel Grove wasn't much of a site, but to me, it was definitely still home. © 2012 mr_19 |
