The BeginningA Chapter by mr_19
At the sight of or even, in fact, the very sensing of fear or danger, 99% of people you will meet will want to run. It is irrefutable that the majority of us would flee, implying nothing but terror in our feeble attempt to escape from the brutal realities we face each day. Either as consequences of our own actions or from the actions of those around us. But what if you were included in the other 1%? What if nothing could stop you? What if absolutely nothing could even remotely bare the thought of standing against you?
Trust me, being one of the 1% is not as beautiful and glorious as it seems. Sure, there are times when nothing but optimism, happiness, and joy become overwhelmingly evident in my life. Although I am fond of the blessings that come from my unique circumstances, there are certain things I desperately wish I could forget. But, you see, I am simply not capable of doing so with certain things. About two years ago, rampage destroyed the city I called home, the one place that I loved. In fact, the only thing I enjoyed more than spending time with my two 9-year old twins Melissa and Henry as well as their mother Rachel, was spending my afternoons making the city my own and going for a jog every now and then. Where I lived was not so much a concrete jungle as it was concrete. Nothing the government told us was ever questioned. Ever. As a result, there was no fear, no pain, no worry. Until, that is, everyone's lives, including my own, came to an unexpected, screeching halt. © 2012 mr_19Reviews
