The JesterA Poem by Joy Carver
My last semblance of sanity hanging by a thread
The pain in my head and heart are too much to bare I look to run and find feet incapable of movement Stuck in the mire of my self formed life Blinded by my never ending need to be loved I dance for only a moment haltingly in my jesters cap for all to see As the bells from the fools cap ring their sadly melodic song so my silent tears vibrate their own tune I live in a world built on promises constructed by liars I find that I am indeed the fool The trust of the innocent makes for the most useful tool in the capable hand of the liar. A jester be the part I play best...jokes I may crack and slight of hand to entertain the few Do not expect more dancing ye of little faith even that I can not imitate. So laugh oh ye villainous merry men, laugh I am but your toy © 2016 Joy CarverFeatured Review
