Symphony LostA Poem by Joy CarverInvincible, I may have thought to be feeling Though thoughts and resolve are surely reeling Each hour where sleep evades, strength is slowly degrading My soul screams after answers that are inevitably fading Bridge between mind, body and soul has ultimately collapsed Discord and distrust become consistent friends Sanity from off its lofty perch descends Remnants of myself a shadow of what was once secure The lighthouse beacon has become utterly obscure A typically inquisitive mind is silent Floating on my insignificant raft of principles and rationality Crashing into massive waves of doubt, slowly shattered against the desolate banks of reality Navigating desperately thru impenetrable night Intimately aware of the pointlessness of my plight The symphony of the universe, for me has lost its tune © 2016 Joy CarverReviews
