A Little Diety

A Little Diety

A Poem by Mpotavin

We have built this indifferent god

of stone and gold

hands warn into gnarled fists

behind barbed wire

sharp and cold

suspended like my belief

a fishing hook

snagged on this reef.

A child looks up

as the brave new god

twists like a mobile,

his mother grabs him by the arm

to dangle above

the s**t and filth

that clogs the tiled subway hall

where voices are thrown

like stones

or just kicked out the door

and down the street.

Yes, society does this .. i don't feel the same way though .. i think God is still the same for many.. too many have built an indifferent god...

About
I have stood before cameras and stage. Smiled or just screamed in rage. I have feasted and gorged, fasted and purged my soul balanced between darkness and light. I have held a man as he died, whispere.. more..
