A Little DietyA Poem by MpotavinWe have built this indifferent god of stone and gold hands warn into gnarled fists behind barbed wire sharp and cold suspended like my belief a fishing hook snagged on this reef. A child looks up as the brave new god twists like a mobile, his mother grabs him by the arm to dangle above the s**t and filth that clogs the tiled subway hall where voices are thrown like stones or just kicked out the door and down the street. © 2008 Mpotavin |
