I am

I am

A Poem by mikaykay

I am five foot three inches.
I am not slim, but I am not "thick."
I'm kind of stuck in this weird grey area.
I have long brown hair, all the way down to my waist, and there are streaks of blonde that appear almost as if to be playing peekaboo throughout it.
I have big hands and long fingers.
My arms are long and lanky.
My torso is short, and my legs seem to go on forever.
I have bright green eyes, that change color depending on my mood.
I am not whole, but I am not broken.
I am somewhere in between.
There are scars on my wrists from times I thought I could not make it through the night.
There are scars on my arms and legs from days I did not have the courage to fight back.
My teeth are not crooked, but my smile is not worth a million dollars.
I am fearless.
I am independent.
I am needy.
I am a lover.
I am a fighter.
I am unpredictable, and all the while I'm not.
I am a hurricane of a women, drenching everyone I come in contact with.
Sometimes I run recklessly with my eyes closed in the direction of what sets my soul on fire, and sometimes I don't.
Some days I am brave and I am strong, and other days I can't even get out of bed.
I am wandering, but I am not lost.
I am me
Unapologetically so.
