Grand-Pa's List

lyrics to a very special story

 

Your Mother is not my daughter__

and your  Daddy is not my son__

 

Some may try to say

that I'm not your Grand-Pa.

 

Some will try to say...

"he's not your real Grandfather, only I am,

if you don't believe that, go ask him." 

"I bought you a dog and a cat!"  "What does he do for you?" 

 

I have a long list of things I do because

I'm a real Grandfather to you!"

 

Just take his list and multiply it by two...

those are the things a real Grand-Pa would do.

If I had a Grand-daughter__

here is a list of things she'd do for me...

 

Give me hugs and kisses...

do you do that for me? yes

 

Love me when I'm feeling bad...

do you do that for me? yes

 

All I can do for you is to love you!

 

If i had a Grand-daughter__

here is a list of the things she'd do for me...

 

Bring me a glass a tea...

do you do that for me? yes

 

When I'm gone, she'd miss me...

do you do that for me? yes

 

I know you're my Grand-daughter...

but am I your Grand-Pa?

 

All I can do for you is to love you__

 

The little girl leans over___ to tell him...

 

Well if I had a Grand-Pa, which I know I do__

he would love me like I love you!
