Unattainable.A Poem by laura hopeheart ache, longing, death. We've gone for so long thinking that were being saved.
But all our loves, they breathe below. They smile at the face of the moon. If only we could let them know. That these craters only welcome us. This cold is only home to us. And that their faces paint the stars. That we kiss them from afar. If you could be here now, I would form a shield. We would race until were lost again. Far beyond this galaxies rim. We could gaze and we would see. The space surrounding you and me. We all know that from down there we are invisible. But you look up and wonder why. We have not returned home yet from the sky. If only we could make you see. We want to speak to you. To let you know the love we had was true. And that even though we're far We shine for you through the stars. If you could be here now, I would form a shield. We could run and we could cry Far beyond this atmosphere's grim. In the dark, one last goodbye. The space surrounding you and me. We all watch and we can only pray. That the memory we have to keep us alive Is as vivid in your mind as mine. If your heart isn't warm for me the cold up here can take me. One less star in the sky. One less reason to wonder why. If you could be here now, I would form a shield. We could jump and fall, and see. Our love ending in its destiny. Until then we'll wait for our escape from this. This space surrounding you and me. © 2011 laura hope |
