Or just even the thought of being together for even a mere second. Just the feeling of the hands reaching your back as our lips make that first impact. Slow and slow. Kissing to the rhythm of an internal beat that flows as one. Closer to each other than we ever have been before. Yet no matter how close, you're still far away. No matter how hard we try, the task is never completed. No matter what progress, there is always more to be done. The work on this friendship. The work on these moments and memories that pass by and that linger in my head. Just as the thoughts rush through at night, just those little thoughts of being with you.
