his two talents

his two talents

A Poem by Addie Santos

I can love you.
I will take care of our little wooden house
and scoop up all the pieces of porcelain you just bust.
I’m going to soothe your sable hair
and kiss each of your skinny fingers
till I gain your trust to touch your scars.

Tell me,
why are they open again?

Maybe I should collect all my things
including my hair ties scattered everywhere
and the curtains I bought for $3.50.
Perhaps my love letters are to compelling,
a muddle of words I can never say to you bodily.
I will kiss you every morning,
I will kiss you every night.
Now, my brave boy,
with eyes so empty
and lips so soft
declare your love for me in a mollified manner
and I promise you have the right to orchestrate
my veins
and
to break me.

It reminded me of the poem "Die for this love".
"Now we both know I will live and
I will die for this love."
Enjoyed reading your work.

I'm profoundly impressed by this. This is no ordinary cheesy love piece, although they have their own charm, this is enticingly different. Mature and unique. I don't generally throw out praise. I personally can be constantly encouraging, but to bow down in appreciation of someone's work is a rarity I welcome.

The way this piece slithers and flows... The alliteration is fascinating. Whether intentional or not.
''Soothe sable hair'' and ''Till I gain your trust to touch your scars''.

These lines just follow each other up so perfectly, hand in hand, as a waterfall, calmly pacing itself.
And to finish it off, those last 8 lines tie this whole piece into an unforgettable bow tie. Hitting you like a sucker punch, but straight to the gut. Well done, you won my praise. And probably another review when something hits as hard as this one.

Another stellar piece. It flows as if nothing can stand in its way. It is so every day but so very beautiful. You cature the essence of life and love and release it from its cage for all of us to see. very nicle my friend.

What a romantic spin on a destructive dysfunction relationship. You write with such power and at the same time soft intimacy.

Thank you so much. I needed that.
I really enjoyed this. It was bold yet smooth and sunk is deeply. Honestly the very first line was my favorite, because after I read it again it just stuck out and pieced everything together. Thank you for sharing - great job :)
