Creatures of Habit

Creatures of Habit

A Poem by Michele

I write only to
extinguish
the insatiable pain of life.

How can you love someone
So distant, so far away,
that you ache from their absence?

I am cursed
Stuck in the endless tangles
of my past loves.
I am only a creature of habit.

I may not know
what the future holds.
I can only foresee
from what is already behind me.
