My WoodsA Poem by dawn aulisA picture of my pastMy
woods Natures wonders all around, Sky so blue, and the only
sounds, Are birds above in the
trees, Makes me whole, my soul is
pleased. The branches sway in the
wind, Crackling noise makes me
grin. All alone in these woods, Like before, just where I
stood. A child lost, searching for
peace, I found it here, in the
rustling leaves. An old foot path, barely
seen, I find now, my eye is keen. Walked this path, many times
before, I know the way, my feet are
sure. Walk along, I know my way, Until the woods open up to
the light of day. Breaking through with shade
of green, Grasses grow, and there's a
stream. I miss this place from my
past, I’d like to stay, to make
this last. But I must leave, and be on
my way, I don’t belong, or so they say. But I will walk, these woods
again, In my dreams, or with my
kin. © 2013 dawn aulisReviews
