ImmersedA Poem by Morgan Bizzak
Blood courses through my veins, faster than usual. I'm sensing everything around me. For once, my head is silent as I take it all in.
The crisp autumn air, the bright colors of the changing leaves, The sounds of birds chirping and branches rustling, almost forming nature's own little orchestra The distant view of children playing, laughing, The ever so photogenic drops of dew on the blades of grass... The wind throws a strong gust at me, sending shivers through my bones and forming goosebumps on my skin. I pull my coat tighter around me and put my hood up to cover my numbing ears. I ease into the furry inner lining and let go of a sigh I've been holding in for who knows how long. I finally fully immerse myself into this nature, and I'm calm, oh so calm. Maybe there is beauty left in the world.
