Forgiveness

Forgiveness

A Poem by Morgan Jenkins
"

been going through a tough time, attempting to break away from someone I love so dearly who has me in knots. trying to let it all out in my writing.

"
Memories of him
and us,
sifting through my mind,
like butterflies on a windy day.
Creating confusion in the breeze
of a warm autumn evening.
My thoughts, they winnow
until the anger subsides.
And nothing but
false happiness
and deep longing remains.
This, I promise you, is
forgiveness.

Author's Note

Morgan Jenkins
when i first started this, i hadn't even realized that all the memories i mentioned were the reason i'd forgive him so easily. I hadn't even made that connection until the end and maybe some of you have experienced this realization as well upon reading this poem.
