our little angel

for my little girl before she was born

i can feel you move inside me
one tiny kick at a time
it's amazing to stop and think
at one point you were only in my mind

now you're growing continuously
and i couldn't be more proud
because you're already my angel
waiting to be delivered from your cloud

daddy is excited to meet you
each day he fills with more joy
because you are his little angel
he's already bought you lots of toys

right now you are sleeping
laying quietly at rest
but i know you'll be trouble
for now you're just acting your best

your daddy and i love you
daddy kisses you every night
then places his ear on my stomache
i've never seen him smile so bright

we may not be the richest parents
but you'll always have our love and care
and i hope that's plenty for you my angel
we're more than glad to share

any day now you can hear my voice
every breath i take and tell when i cry
but i'm looking forward to your love
and singing you to sleep with a lullaby

you've become my pride and joy
no one can take this away
and i know when you come along
i'll be speechless and wont know what to say

but until that day comes along
we'll be praying for a healthy survival
and mommy and daddy are anxious
counting down the days to your arrival
