school teacherA Poem by wally mc gooa song really but in "poem" form I've been a school teacher now
for 12 years of my life; planning points and listening, just trying to get things right. The kids gave me their everything and taught me 'bout their fight, some had homes and some were gnomes but all had dreams in spite... and I learned- that the sun also rises - even tho' it wears disguises, sometimes I couldn't find it but the children showed me how. Yeah and money may blind us, evaporate our kindness until the kids remind us it's just paper any how!! I recently hung up my spikes, turned in my badge and keys. Didn't want to make a big scene, Just - to Exit softly please. When the kids found out, no clamor nor shout I thought that I was home-free When I reached home, after crying alone, I saw a note taped to my tree: Thanks for showing us that- the sun also rises, even tho' it wears disguises, sometimes we couldn't find it, but your teaching showed us how! Yeah and money may blind us, evaporate our kindness, until your words remind us - it's just paper any how!! © 2010 wally mc gooAuthor's Note
