Write Me A Letter

Write Me A Letter

A Poem by Ashley N.G.
"

"Write me a letter, and in it tell me everything..."

"

Write me a letter

and in it tell me everything.

Paint a picture of those streets

the ones I've only seen in dreams.

Show me everything I'm missing

all the while I'm missing you.

Describe what makes you smile

is it the same smile I once knew?

Autumn is still my favorite season

I know yours was always spring.

Are the flowers there as beautiful

   they probably compare to nothing.

Oh, tell great-grandpa hello for me

I know you two are catching up.

I wish I could have spent more time

with all the ones I loved.

I hope you still play your songs

on that big ol' grand piano.

You know, I never would get tired listening

you put on quite a show.

I miss the way you used to laugh

and how we would laugh until we cried.

You always knew when I needed that

   without even asking why.

Sometimes I see or hear you

   sometimes I catch your scent.

I have to remember you are still here

with me, an angel you have sent.

excellent, i think, very well-written....but the last line confuses me a bit. perhaps change to 'an angel to me sent'? very gorgeous, simple, fresh imagery throughout, and a loving, wistful tone.
