What Is Pain.

What Is Pain.

A Poem by Ashley N.G.
"

These are the thoughts that run through my head when I remember you. I miss you so much GiGi.

"

Pain is having a heavy heart, but at the same time it is empty.

It is regretting not telling you goodbye that day, and that I loved you; because I was in a hurry.

Pain is only remembering the bad memories and hating yourself because most of them could have been avoided.

Then, it is finally remembering the good ones, but it only makes things worse because they are gone now.

Pain is trying to ignore how much it hurts, but then hitting you harder when it all starts flooding back at once.

It is realizing they are never coming back, no matter how hard you cry.

Pain is losing the only person who ever understood you.

The only person who really kept you going.

Pain is having a hard time listening to your favorite songs because they all bring back memories of you.

Pain is dreaming about you, but waking up to realize I can never tell you about it.

Pain is wanting to hug you, but can’t anymore.

It is wanting to have those long conversations again, but can’t anymore.

It is wanting to laugh until we cry over the stupidest things, but can’t anymore.

It is wanting you to drive me just outside of town because we like to look at the pretty houses we might one day have, but can’t anymore.

It is wanting you to just hold me and tell me everything will be okay, but you can’t anymore.

Pain is crying yourself to sleep because you cannot hold it in any longer.

It is pretending everything is okay because you want people to think you are strong.

But you were my strength, and now you are gone.

I do not even care if it is horrible and has no structure, I just had to write it down.
