[we grew up]

[we grew up]

A Poem by moosicphreak

remember when we were kids?

all we ever had to do

was ride bikes and watch TV

remember grade school?

all we ever went to do

hang out at the mall and act dumb

don't you love high school?

now you do all the things you saw on TV

and it's all around you

what will you do when you get out?

do you have plans? dreams?

I bet you do.

Where do those dreams come from?

are they from when you were a kid

or did all those years change them

did you become more realistic?

more jaded? more sensible?

why?

This poem moves the heart in its truth.. its nostalgia.. and brings me back to another time and place
remembering what it was to be a kid.. how all worries were what game to play and what bikes to ride..
and as time passes by we wonder.. we wonder what becomes of future by analyzing our past ..
pure pondering notions.. like what it is to remember.. grade school, highschool.. and beyond

and what becomes of life.. when i was a child all i would do is dream.. and what happens to those dreams when cold reality shows its face, and takes the hand leading life in a new direction for the sake
of growing up.. seeing things through new eyes.. your poem shows the importance of holding
onto dreams.. and never letting go of what the heart wants.. in achieving and succeeding..
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this.. thanks for sharing.. i am sure many a reader can relate

An great set of questions.

As I am still lost somewhere in those lines, it gave me something to ponder about.

Great write.

What great questions? It is so true that most of us have given up our dreams to become realistic, jaded and sensible, not to mention unhappy just like our parents and the society as a whole. Very thoughtful write.
