NightA Poem by moosicphreakI wrote this for a persuasive project in HN lit. my class liked it, so I figured i would put it up. Focused on Night by Elie Wiesel
You sit there and you read The story of a child Forced to run and bleed You stand there and you speak Of a history Which we’d rather not think The power in the pages Wiesel speaks A sorrow of his young ages As a child he was forced to endure Family torn A killing of faith pure With forced march And starvation The conditions were harsh Imposed on a nation The children in our schools Never realize How lucky we are To walk along under American skies And never have to worry About the larceny Of our lives How could you stand? To let it be forgotten? Common sense gone rotten Hitler terrorizing the land If we do not keep history in the present, our past will not come well. © 2008 moosicphreakFeatured Review
