In Search of the SunA Poem by Carianne
I am on a journey, spanning far and wide Across a land where the villagers hide. Atop rolling waves of golden sand I endlessly travel through this faraway land.
I am in search of the sun, an impossible task Continuing on with an empty flask. What I may seek, and what I may find Has all been forgotten and left behind.
In this land of eternal night Where beasts of legend never cease their fight I have come to restore the life-giving peace Of a land who's eternal sun should have never ceased.
Past the squalls of whipping sands Struggling forth with heavily scarred hands The feeling of drugging mirage Is just another timely barrage.
I am in search of the sun, an impossible task Continuing on with an empty flask. What I may seek, and what I may find Has all been forgotten and left behind.
This moon hangs low, eery and still My mind, it rings, this pain is shrill. Have I come just to seek the end? Must I die to never see the sun descend?
But, look, just beyond the horizon and above A light pulses, soft as the wing of a dove. A ball of fire, it rises higher The eternal midnight is begining to retire.
I am in search of the sun, the live-giving sun And now my journey is finished, forgotten and done. The sun, it waxes and follow; its wane Holy light has resumed its reign.
