Keeping It Real

Keeping It Real

A Poem by Bo Lanier

Well if you have compassion in your heart

And you're not afraid to show it then you're

KEEPING IT REAL...

If you can somehow manage to pick yourself

Up every time this world knocks you down then

More than likely you always will because you

Believe in KEEPING IT REAL...

If you can make time for family and friends

Without making it such a big deal then you're

Keeping it together and KEEPING IT REAL...

If you take the time to be kind then it will all

Come back to you in time and if you can put

Others before yourself then you know deep

Down inside how love is really supposed to feel

For love is all that really matters and if you have

Love in your heart then you're KEEPING IT REAL...

For that is the way of Angels, love is the only

Thing Angels are able to feel...

Oh and just remember it's not what's in the mirror

But what's on the inside so set your spirit free 'cuz

You’re worth your weight in gold in Heaven's eyes...

Help others who've all but given up on life, try to

Give them a reason to live 'cuz God knows you know

We all can use a helping hand so if it's within your

Powers try to lead someone who’s lost in the darkness

Into the light...

For if you can walk the walk and talk the talk of the

Angels then you know how love is supposed to feel

And if you have compassion in your heart and you're

Not afraid to show it then you are keeping hope alive

And you're KEEPING IT REAL, KEEPING IT REAL!
