Jaded

Jaded

A Poem by Bo Lanier

There for the longest time everybody

To get with you but you were mine

Although I was no exception I to

Fell under your spell and you could

Lead me to Heaven or drag through

Hell, I didn't care at the time 'cuz I

Was young and dumb little did I know

You never were mine...

Time took its toll on us somehow

I guess I just grew up and realized

It was more like infatuation than

Love yeah I've always been the

Restless kind and broke many hearts

In a trail of tears and just like a

Ghost one moment I hold you near

Then I disappear just couldn't give

You my half my heart on the off

Chance you'd love me back...

Now you're back and you say you think

You really love me well how do u expect

Me to act when I know my moods are

Just like the ever changing seasons

Now tell the truth could u really handle

That...

The only one I ever really loved was

When I was too young to know what

Love was but it sure was fun, up all night

A drinking and a lovin' until we just crashed

In the early morning hours of the sun, I

Thought we were over many moons ago

But just yesterday I got your letter in the

Mail, low and behold and u say you're

Coming back to town over the weekend

Why do I feel like the child u knew way?

Back then, I’m not the lover you jaded

Way back when!
