Lies and Deception

Lies and Deception

A Poem by Moonspeckle
"

This poem came to me in a dream, in which I immediately woke up and wrote it down. What purpose it has, I don't know.

"
I stand there,
familiar scents washing over me.
This was my home,
until the rumors and lies casted me out.
My only companion,
the moon.
It's peacefulness fills my soul,
with a short lived sense of calm.

You, my love,
I trusted you, among everyone else.
Yet, now you look at me like a demon,
the leader's lies hardening your feelings.
You were the one I thought would stand by me,
since the others pushed us away.
I always tried to calm your tears,
and hid my own from sight.

Now I have no one,
and sadly, no one cares.
For one lie tore my life apart,
and now I am not strong enough to build it back.
