A Cry

A Cry

A Poem by Moonspeckle

Come, my friend
allow me to follow in the footsteps of my ancestors.
Come lovely angel,
your wings of the deepest, moonless night.
Come angel of death
cover me with your graceful wings,
cover me with a deadly sense of calm.
Come angel of death,
allow me the chance to finally calm my stormy heart,
allow this restlessness to cease.
Come angel of death,
show me your beautiful face,
let me see the ones I have lost,
let me finally learn the answers to the things I will never understand.
Come angel of death,
sweep my soul away like a thief in the night,
allow me to leave this earth with a light grace.
Let my shy face not be covered in bloodshed.
Come angel of death,
bring me my fate;
bring me to my final chapter on this earth,
allow me to finally gain elegant wings.
Let me finally have the wings I was born to receive
and to fly gracefully through the sky with my fallen family,
allow me to finally go home.

You are indeed a poet! Some here are good writers...some are dramatis....some are original....some are creative.

You are a poet!
