A Poem by Lydia

I am all-encompassing,

chaotically composed.

Mother Earth woman

with ocean eyes

and wild hair;

Graveyard smile

with a million miles

compressed

          into

              me.

Father Sky can’t touch me,

waiting forever for me in Heaven

to give up the ground

and fly with him.

The sun himself is my lover,

flames burning me

so sweetly.

She is the dark star,

crashing into me;

disturbing my peace,

putting my heart on ice.
