Tabula Rasa.

Tabula Rasa.

A Poem by Lydia

For once in my life I am building bridges

Instead of burning them;

Fire and brimstone no more.

Life is an open door,

And I’m inviting you to step through,

Best thing I ever did,

Best thing you’ll ever do.

Happiness is attainable,

Possibilities are endless

When acceptance arrives.

I am looking at my feet,

Seeing flowers springing from me,

Feeling the energy of the Earth

Envelop me wholly.

I am looking behind,

But turning back no more;

Seeing only clean slates,

No cares for past mistakes.

I don’t mind where I was,

But I like it better where I am.

Friends are family,

Family’s friends.

I can feel the sunshine,

Because we’ve all survived the rain.

I am a tree, I am growing tall,

Living in the open,

Refusing to be confined.

I’ll still mind if you don’t,

I’ll still care if you don’t.

We are all together,

Holding hands.

God is smiling,

And so am I.
