Bloom.A Poem by LydiaLove was once an avalanche But the weight of it, Unbearable at times, Has slowly melted with the snow. I am the springtime, I am the buds of the trees. The flowers are my sisters, The birds are my friends. I feel my bones thaw, I feel reality pulling away. There is nothing left that you can see. I can see it all. I can see the roots under your feet. I can see the branches of the tallest tree. I flew away from everything, Like birds flying south from the bitter cold of his kiss, Like fish swimming upstream, Expecting to die. I was granted life instead: A warm kiss outdid their cold goodbyes. I have found a love that is neither spread Too thick or too thin. We are children again, together; Flying kites and fishing. Feeling Earth beneath our feet And giving our heart to the heavens. I am as I am. I am who I want to be. © 2010 LydiaReviews
