A Poem by Lydia

it's that weird time of night
when it's not today,
but it's barely tomorrow.

two years.
would it really have been two years?
no.  no.
                  yes.

i wish we were sitting on your roof tonight
seeing the stars shoot across the sky,
granted we stared at them for long enough.
the bats would fly around the chimney, again,
and we'd hear the occasional ambulance,
except we don't even notice those anymore.

i really did find a place
in someone else's arms.

he knows just how to hold me,
just how to show me all the things
i'd never seen before.

memories are fragile, fading, gone.

happy.

forever.
