Sans Vous.

Sans Vous.

A Poem by Lydia

Crushed, broken on the floor,
My heart still beats like a miracle unknown to me.
Lonely, I sit in the presence of many,
Wishing for only you to appear.

(If I could change things,
I’d be the first to change)

I am feigning happiness and
Suffering from years of hurt,
Yet you still don’t understand:
I will not hold this against you,
I refuse to judge.

(For I, with sin abound,
Cannot even stoop to grasp the first stone.)

I do not deserve love,
Not even from He who saves,
But without God, who am I?
For what would I have to live?
I am a sinner, in filth I am clothed,
Without hope,
Without you.

Come on, now. Everyone deserves love. Don't you watch VH1? If creepy weirdos like Brett Michaels and Flavor Flave have entire television shows dedicated to finding "love," then surely you can find the real stuff. In all seriousness, though, this is good.

"My heart still beats like a miracle unknown to me" is a fantastic line. I actually have a few suggestions if you're interested in revising. Just let me know and I'll send you some of my revision ideas in a message on here or I'll just edit this review. But that's about all I've got for now. This is some really good stuff. Definitely keep up the good work!
