A Ladder.

A Ladder.

A Poem by Lydia

I am nothing by myself.
I am nothing without you.

Forgiveness is too steep a ladder to climb.
I see you lock the door of your heart,
And I take the blame and my crucifix
And climb the ladder,
Reaching the top rung,
I apologize,
The hundredth time:
No loving look in your eyes.
No arms willing to embrace.
No sympathy written on your face.
I realize, too late
I stumble, I shake
Tongue-tied on my lies,
I begin to climb down,
Thinking better of it,
And jump from the ladder
Of unfulfilled forgiveness.

I enjoy this writing; it gives off vibes of loss. I feel that it describes the love you can feel for someone, and how you can feel when that love is not returned. Well written ^_^
