Lives in Line.

Lives in Line.

A Poem by Lydia

Parallel lives were perpendicular lines

For a moment in time,

Then the camera flashed

And the second hand stopped,

So I stepped outside my body

And looked at you through different eyes.

Parallel lives,

How I wish we made one line,

Together through ups and downs.

I’d love to be your shadow

When we’re running in circles

Trying to get ahead but

Settling for the tail end.

The path I’m following

Might lead to you,

But I’m too short of foresight

To see the shadows

In your crystal ball

That breaks and falls.

According to you,

Our lines might not

Have crossed at all.
