Reincarnate.

Reincarnate.

A Poem by Lydia

Love;

They say it’s all you need,

But love I’ve achieved

And still there’s something

Hanging over my head underneath

A dead end that still lingers lonely,

Calling my name to find it

And hold it and make it real.

You call out for me,

Bringing a lost girl to reality,

While another voice calls me back

To a haunted past, a forgotten path I never took.

Everything I see reminds me of things

Of two years before the Sunday

I saw your smiling face.

I kissed you like I’ve never kissed before,

Restoring the innocence

That wasn’t previously there.

And as you ran your fingers

Through my hair and your eyes and mine

Stared into souls we knew before

In some past life though some old strife

Had torn our spirits apart from the one it once was,

As you held my hand, and spoke the words

I walked the line,

I closed my eyes,

I died.

I took my final breath,

The air escaped my chest,

And, the next kiss,

The next touch of otherworldly lips

Breathed life back again:

The end of the beginning

That just began.
