We Run Wild.

We Run Wild.

A Poem by Lydia

Freedom is the feeling of grass beneath her feet

With the blue sky the same shade as her eyes

And it’s not much of a surprise:

I’ve fallen for a free spirit

I’ve never seen set free before.

She runs wild and I’m trying to catch up

With all her skips and jumps, still

I’m begging for more of this euphoria.

I fell asleep and dreamed of someone once,

Not just anyone now, but only her:

With the auburn locks that shine like the stars of

That summer night when her voice,

Like the whisper of wind in the willows,

First spoke those words that mean the most.

There’s tears on my pillow as I hold her close

And kiss the closed sapphire eyes

Beauty that never fails to make me cry.

Now she’s kneeling by the water,

Spinning in circles as she leaves life behind,

Face to the sun, and arms to the sky,

Loving the land,

She looks back and smiles

As she takes me gently by the hand.

We run wild, my flower child and me

And though I once belonged in the city

There’s no where else I’d rather be.

Hide and seek with sunflowers,

Such a glorious, powerful thing, this love.

She’s grabbed me by the heart and

I’m so grateful I found her

As her heart and mine went wandering

Once upon a summertime.

I like this...

I like the split, because the girl is actually you...but the free spirit side seems to also have character traits of someone else...I'm not sure exactly.

Vivid imagery....kudos
