Constancy

Constancy

A Poem by Lydia

Strange times, strange skies
Can't you feel the earth turn?
Listen, slowly and try
I have touched to my lips
The honey of my host
I cannot return to the place I once was
Pull me to you like the tide to the shore,
I have shown you the waxing of this moon
Take me back to the place where trees stay evergreen
The planets align around us with little effort,
Each one as it belongs
Fix me as the North Star
Let me be ever constant and bright
Millennia will pass before I stray but a little
Dwell not on some curse of the past
But instead on the highest blessings received for the future
