Sonnet 2.A Poem by Lydia
If I could describe the indescribable, And if I could reach the stars in the sky - If I could conquer the unconquerable, I would have no trouble saying goodbye. I loved freely and love was too readily returned - Suspiciously took the case to Cupid's court, And now the verdict in, the jury adjourned: The truth? My love - genuine, your words - only sport. Wishing I knew not the truth and still believed, I know the days of innocence have ended. Perhaps I should be sad, perhaps relieved, Yet I feel nothing and am broken and bended. My heart, so long buried, is worn now on my sleeve As I kiss your sleeping mouth, take my keys, and finally leave. © 2008 LydiaAuthor's Note
