I'll Say it while I still Can.

I'll Say it while I still Can.

A Poem by Lydia

Has anyone in history felt the way that I'm feeling?
Love is enough for me to deal with,
But is it enough to light our way out of this place?
Such self-destruction, self-repulsion,
I'm history repeating and fleeting
Wanting, needing, not receiving, ever,
Never believing.
No faith, no fret, forget it
Forget me
(The rest of them did)

With he saids and she saids and you saids
And everything that's in my head,
And your head and anything but that.
Don't tempt me and still expect to trust me.
Leave me, left me, right me, wrong me
Anything, anywhere, any way
That you know how...

If you've looked that horse in the mouth
I promise it'll be ten times worse if you look me in the eyes.
Look me in the eyes,
my soul? Fool-
There isn't one!
Now look in your mirror,
Look in those pools of darkness.
You've taken it --
My soul.
My soles are worn down, low down
Round about, looking down, around

See me! Feel me! Hear me!
I'm real.
You've seen me,
And touched me,
And loved me,
And beat me,
What's left to say?
Hey, it's over with,
I'm over it,
I'm over you.

(That's a lie)
(It always is)

Should've been, could've been
Would've never been
You and me?
No,
You'd never be
in love
with anyone
or anything
other than
yourself.
