Ash

Ash

A Poem by Lydia

I have been touched by the fire
Consumed entirely
Spread like the ash
Of his cigarette
To the wind

There is no other blaze
Which has me weakened
Like a tree struck by lightning
There is only your flame

Tie me to the stake of you
I hunger for your heated breath
Break me on your headboard
And burn me on that pyre

I will give myself to you
Every inch and passing thought
Until the distance between us
Is no more than a gust of wind
