Tasting Magic

Tasting Magic

A Poem by Lydia

There is a single red rose
growing next to his door step
and half of me considers this to be a sign
as I sigh and gather myself
for this whirlwind

His smile and his eyes
intoxicate me like wine
and the pit in my stomach
deepens with each kiss
until I am exposed
and this black hole inside
it seems to ebb and flow
like the ocean
and it consumes me whole

I cannot shake the feeling
of your hands in my hair
and the way you stare
like I won't notice

If only every time I awakened
you were also there

The way you stare like I won't notice
I liked that line a lot...

the rose with the thorns totally symbolical

What a strange and unusual feeling this left me with, primarily because of the last lines. It begins with "he" and ends with "you" so there must be some transition in characters here. Perhaps this is some kind of "love triangle"? It definitely makes the reader wonder.
