Mister Forty Fifth.A Poem by Lydia
Mister Forty-fifth on parallel lines From your heart to mine and across the universe. I worry you'll forget my face and Find a place in someone else's arms. I'm trying not to think, But lullabies have long since failed, And drinks don't do so much. I'm trying to toughen up, But it's hard without you here. I love you more than anything And I love you more than everything. I'm wondering if you like it there, But I'm too scared to ask. I wonder what you're thinking, And if you've still got those feelings For a boy on the forty-fifth parallel. I tell you Miss Seventy-Five with Your eight hour drives, I never doubted we could make it, I just didn't think you'd ever go. But now I know and now I'm Mister Forty-Fifth while you're Somewhere in the Southern Sun Having fun without me. I still love you more than anything, And I love you more than everything. I'm wondering if you love it there, But I'm too scared to ask. I wonder what you're thinking, Just please tell me you've still got those Feelings for a boy on the forty-fifth parallel. You're gone, you've left You know I didn't want you to I just didn't know how to stop you I said I wouldn't and never would But now I wish I would have I love you more than anything, And I love you more than everything. I'm wondering if you'll come back here, But I'm too scared to ask. I wonder if you're thinking of me, If you've still got those feelings. Miss Seventy-Five, if I had One wish, I'd love to make you Misses Forty-fifth. © 2008 LydiaReviews
