Lack.

Lack.

A Poem by Lydia

Blank pages,

Empty pens,

Waiting for life to start again.

A restless spirit,

An unbridled past,

Hoping that this pain won’t last.

A cold day,

And crying eyes,

Another useless alibi.

Broken hearts,

And sleepless nights,

She wonders if she’ll win this fight.

"A cold day,

i really liked this part because i know that when i'm feeling low, it could be cause for me to break plans, ignore phone calls, forget to return calls, or just plain not show up somewhere. how do you explain that? most people who don't understand depression or whatever have trouble dealing with an excuse like, "i just couldn't....was feeling too bad."

the rhyme in your poem is beautiful.
the rhythym was great--it just carried me right along.
