MonstersA Story by KeelyMy breath increased rapidly. I ran faster than I ever had before in my life. I whipped my head back to see them gaining on me. Monsters. Sharp teeth wild eyes long bodies. Snarling sounds escaping their lips. Clear liquid leaking from their bodies. Their eyes crazed and murderous like the cougars but worse. I’ve never seen anything like them. I turned back and ran faster. Green leaves whipping me, flyers flying out of their trees as I went by. I could hear the waterfall ahead. They were trapping me. The monsters. I frantically veered left. Leaping over fallen trees. I jumped on a rock claws digging in trying not to slip off. I clawed my self up and backed up as far as I could go. My tail flicked back and forth as I waited for the monsters to come. I heard their approach long before they were close to me. The monsters stupidly ran on only two legs the others flailing around. They made noises like they were in pain. They surrounded my perch and thrust their pointed sticks at me. I snarled and hissed batting the sticks away. They kept at this, one striking me as I batted the other away. One monster struck me hard, ripped at my skin. I growled and snapped. I hit one of them. As the monster fell I ran, ran for my life. © 2013 KeelyAuthor's Note
