3/5 a dream

3/5 a dream

A Poem by sonnetmoon
"

A poem about freedom.

"

One day I shall be free

Bound by the chains,

Of humanity

Mental slavery bind us

For I am a mere puppet

Yet I shall not lose hope

Not yet anyway

Because I am still naïve and young

Yet still able to love

And make peace with the wrong

So lets us dream,

For imagination is all we have left

It’s the only thing we can claim

And it refuses to be tame

I like this piece, people often underestimate how important attitude is, the ability to forgive and the ability to hold an ideal, they are very important. As we get older, it is very easy to compromise our ideals; to insist that they are not practical, and since it is so hard/impossible, that we are just making a fool of ourselves. I see it in the majority of the older population, they have lost hope, and they have lost ambition to dream for a better world. Ah, the curse of the cynic. Makes me think about the book 'The kingdom of god is within you' by Leo Tolstoy; a book of christian anarchism. I like a lot of the ideas in that book, ideas which don't compromise with what is 'possible with human nature'. it is inspiring, even to an atheist such as I.

I liked this poem.Your imagination is far more developed than mine, I find that my mental en-slavery is more of an emancipation than any imagination that I might have,

This is a very good poem, especially the lines "so let us dream/for imagination is all we have left". It feels a bit like a dream too. Great work on this!

The dream is amazing. Each set of lines opening the door to thought and questions.
