Sad Eyes

Sad Eyes

A Poem by iisuntouchable

She tries to hide her sad eyes

Behind fake laughs and little white lies

She likes to think she can make it all go away

With a smile and those things she likes to say

But I know the demons that she keeps

And I know the silence that she seeks

Its little smiles and little hands that pull her on

She knows love for that little girl remains when all else is gone

She says it's her baby girl that keeps her alive

Yeah, she puts the truth back in her eyes

But I know the secrets that she keeps

And I know the love that she seeks

I know this life is wearing her thin

And I know she wants something more than the way things have been

Though she can't seem to see what's inside

It won't be long and she'll find a way to silence those cries

About
I've been writing poetry for ten years or so now. I've allowed life to get in the way of my writing, one of the few places I used to escape to and I hope to get back into it more regularly. Thanks t.. more..
