Last Dance

Last Dance

A Poem by iisuntouchable

I'm the candle that burns for you,

the light that shines through

Each drop of melted wax is another missed kiss

I lie awake each night wishing on my wishes

The flame flickers each time you push me away,

dies everytime you refuse to stay

Its another sleepless night again

It seems I can't escape you Alison

All I ever wanted was a little love, a little touch

You're all I need, I never wanted anything else so much

A sweet little voice from the west coast called and off I went

Only a few months later to a personal hell I was sent

I can recall our hand in hand walk along that cold beach

So many memories I sometimes wish were further out of reach

Its another sleepless night again

It seems I can't escape you Alison

When the sleep does come and I close my eyes, you're the last thing I see

And when these black and white images interupt my slumber, you're the farthest from me

A once tall candle has burned itself down to nothing but a puddle

It once burned strong on memories of when we used to cuddle

A cold breeze is blowing the last life out of me

The flame dances it's last dance, dies as it bleeds

Its another sleepless night again

And I just want you to know, I'm through with you Alison

About
I've been writing poetry for ten years or so now. I've allowed life to get in the way of my writing, one of the few places I used to escape to and I hope to get back into it more regularly. Thanks t.. more..
