The Jokes on You now

The Jokes on You now

A Poem by Rachika Evelyn Fauz

No, I fear you not,
You came and went.

I fear you not.
Oh! Great ball of fire.

You crashed,
You disembodied me,
You’ve dried up my world
in utter disillusionment.

No! I fear you no more.
You came and you sought out.
From pitstops to heavens waterfalls,
Neverland's to a land of my own.

I have stood on that mountain
looked at you mess
Scorched up bareness,
Women and men shout out
to the one who made you and me.

And still you came and sought out
the last dreads of hope and mirth.
Destroyed it with your shine.
And now you laugh, Oh! you
cruel creature of God.

Are you and me not same?
Why do you look so upon me and laugh?
Am I not made by the same hands as you were?

Be gone I shout out, But laugh
with all might you still.

Pity and sorrows you gave us all.
Downfalls and arrows thru will.

But look now,
We stand upon these feet.
Crocked and wobbly,
But stand we do.

An in-your-face moment they say.
Ha! The jokes on you now.
